Back to the freeze

The Bluejays and Nuthatches sure love the peanut butter coated breadcrumbs I put out. The Chickadees and Sparrows come in waves to indulge also.
Cardinals singing at 6, a nice way to wake up, the air was right for hearing the train horns just before 6 too. It is funny how the atmosphere changes that, sometimes I can barely hear them, other times the horns sound like the train is going by a block away. I put Scooters parka on when he went out to potty, it is minus 6 this morning. I've got today off from work, not sure what all I'm going to do though. The bedroom walls need a second coat of paint, I should sort through some paperwork, and some putzing may be on the agenda. I really enjoy getting up each morning to read, meditate and pray. The cats paw at me and Scooter nuzzles when I do. The longer days sure are a mood elevator, it won't be long and daylight savings time will kick in too. Some of the stores are already putting out gardening stuff. Makes me think about plans for the yard this Spring. I'm going to enlarge the vegetable garden by a couple feet on 2 sides and move the rock borders. I've been dumping all the old coffee grounds on it all winter, that really helps to keep the dirt loose, and it makes the worms better workers, oh yeah. There is a lot of ornamental grass in the perennial garden to split apart and transplant to the front by the street too, that will make it look very nice indeed with the liatris growing there. ahh, Spring dreams.

I'll post more later on this beautiful day off in Brainerd.
Peace!
