Radishes up and a new blanket of herbs

A surreal weekend that was over too quickly, has led me to this sunny, cool Monday morning. A night of deep sleep has me feeling rested and wonderful, I am outside myself with a calm gratitude that is a most natural intoxication of the soul.

I went outside to walk around the back yard, feel the cool air and see what was happening in my gardens while listening to the birds. A humming bird buzzed me twice while I was looking at my herbs. My radishes are up with the herbs, and in the vegetable garden, I can see small cracks and mounds as the green beans prepare to emerge.
The tarragon and oregano are thriving, and the anise hysop is growing well. The hysop is a good addition to tea, and a rubbed leaf smells just like a black jelly bean. I used some chives in an appetizer dip Saturday night while the coals were firing up in the Weber for rib eyes. Any little treat from the garden is a special treat this time of year and I am tempted to make something with rhubarb today, if only juice to have as a tonic.

Some bank business this late morning or tomorrow is on the agenda... I was given the time and date of Tuesday the 18th... is it the 18th or Tuesday?..... hmmm, an early phone call will clear that up.

Daughter Katie is back from her 3 week kayaking adventure in the Ocean and Prince Edward Sound off the coast of Alaska. I was so elated and grateful to get her phone call, back and safe... full of energy and tales of the journey. I am very anxious to hear more and see some pictures as she blogs and eventually visits home in Minnesota.

I must make some plans for this weekend. A fun road trip to Rice Lake Wisconsin for my Friend Tom Smith's 30th Wedding Anniversary. I was in the wedding, and am going to this party weekend to Chef and enjoy. Still some details to iron out, but it is going to be the hoot of all hoots. Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Potato Salad Delux and Homemade Ice Cream are going to be a big part of the festivities, along with the reunion.

I may post more later today if anything wonderful happens... it would be almost impossible to beat the feeling I have deep inside my Heart and Soul this morning.

Peace, and may you feel grateful for blessings all through your day!
