Bakin' Bread and Havin' Fun

Yesterday was one of those fun days that we wished would never end. After a great supper Tuesday night of Mexican rice with fresh tomatoes and peppers with cheesy tortillas, we went to the park and played tennis. We had the most long volleys ever, for some reason, and had a blast, laughing and enjoying the mostly bug-free courts. Then out for coffee drinks before kicking back and watching one of our favorite TV shows, on the Food Channel of course, "Chopped".

In the morning, after catching up on some household stuff, we went out for a great lunch at a Mexican place.... I had chili, Peggy had a chicken
tortilla soup with cheese, and we split a delicious special of the day, "BBQ quesadilla" sweet and spicy filled large, crispy tortilla folded over and toasted. with a cooling dip sauce... fantastic!

We were in the mood to bake, and got the kitchen ready for lots of bread baking. I made a zucchini bread in my machine with orange zest while Peggy got banana bread ready to go. We ended up making 8 loaves, 2 large, and 6 small to eat, freeze and share this weekend on our trip. The kitchen smelled awesome. As the bread baked, we played Backgammon. Peggy soundly whipped my butt the first game, keeping a few of my pieces
on her side or on the bar until the end.. yikes. We played a second game, and this time it did it to her! We decided to stop with one win apiece, and laughed at how we had both beat each other so badly. We both threw a lot of doubles which was kind of strange.... fun game, we nibbled brownie cookies while we played.

We rented the movie "Mall Cop", just for fun, and after a good supper of egg sandwiches with fried zucchini and cheese, settled in on the futon for laughs. It is a pretty good movie, lots of good humor, and romantic.

It's drizzling this morning... cool and calm. Time to pack some and get things ready to leave tomorrow for the weekend. We'll have lots of stuff from our gardens to bring and share, green beans, tomatoes, cukes and see what else. It will be fun to see what is on the "work list" this time and decide what else we'll do for fun, visiting and helping.

The air is fresh with rain, cool breezes, gardens putting out vegies and other good things in Brainerd today. Feels so good to feel so good, blessings and miracles every day... Life and Love are great!

Peace!
