It is feeling like the Holidays!

An incredible weekend of fun. Friday, after work, we went up to Nisswa for the "Lighting of the Town" celebration. All the stores were open and lit up with Christmas lights, there was a carnival atmosphere with music, hay rides and food.... awesome "Christmas Card" scenery everywhere with a huge crowd of fun people. The night finished with a great fireworks show with a lot of red and green firework blossoms and 2 huge displays of intertwined hearts in the air, we had never seen such cool fireworks. Saturday was a blur for the both of us... after long days of work and "Black Friday", we just kind of drifted through the day. A meeting in the morning, followed by some really fun shopping for Christmas presents and deals, putzing around the house and just relaxing. I made macaroni and cheese with diced smoked turkey for an early supper, and we watched "The Santa Clause". Good Holiday Cheer!

Sunday was just what a Sunday should be, church followed by an entire day of "just being", relaxing, putting up some decorations for Christmas and good food. Peggy had never had a Muffaletta sandwich before. Saturday night I had begun the prep by chopping ripe olives to soak in olive oil and garlic for the stuffing of the sandwich. We layered sliced turkey and ham with tomatoes, peppers, onions and cheese, on top of the olive mixture into the hollowed out loaf. Into the oven for about an hour wrapped in foil until it was toasty and all melted into goodness. What a sandwich!

We ate it and watched the movie "Angels and Demons" with Tom Hanks again as Robert Langdon, the symbologist from the DaVinci Code. A bit racing at times, it was a very good movie overall. Great to have a day to kick back, Vikings on in the background, do a bit of fun shopping and catch up after a week of work and busy-ness. We took the dogs for a nice long walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed seeing some Holiday lights and decorated houses. Romantic and wonderful.

Christmas music on the radio, Advent in church, mild weather, Love, and lots of good things happening in life! This is going to be a fabulous Holiday Season and we are starting it here in Brainerd.

Peace!
