Bracing for the Blast?

Got to go outside and take a "before" picture. If we get the Winter Storm that is predicted, it will be fun to post an "after" shot of our home blanketed with the new snow. I've got plenty of gas for the blower, got the Polaris snowmobile fired up, so it will start, and got lots of goodies to eat if we get snowbound. That would be awesome.

I'm starting a batch of Swedish Butter Cookies, or Smorbakels. Creaming the powdered sugar and butter right now. Then sift together the dry ingredients, mix together and form into balls to flatten and sprinkle with colored sugar. A simple but elegant Christmas cookie for the festivities.

I went to Mories Fish Shop today and got some Lingonberry Pickled Herring and some Smoked Canadian Trout for Christmas munching too. A Swedish Potato Sausage for sometime soon and other Holiday Treats..... oh yeah!

Glad to be home for the Holidays, we'll limit our travel and hope for the best as this Winter Storm rolls in tonight.... after midnight until Saturday, wave after wave of snow and wind is supposed to hit Crow Wing County. Our best wishes go out to travelers, and hope everyone stays safe, taking no chances on the road.

Listening to carols on the radio, sometimes having the Food Channel on, nice to be cozy and do Christmas preparations in Brainerd.... celebrating Life and Love!

Peace!
