We're Not Wasting Sunshine

Yesterday afternoon, temperature about 35, not a cloud in the sky.... let's go hiking! After I got off work, Peggy was done shopping and doing some running, it was a beautiful day outside.

Peggy was still excited about her new Merrel shoes, and had been wearing them all day!.... I know what that's like, I've had Merrels myself.

We decided to see what the Paul Bunyan Trail was like. Parking at the Arboratum, we ventured through the wooded path and out to the trail. It was perfect, we headed north.

Staying to the right, a couple of snowmobiles navigated past us, waving. Chickadees were chirping and there were lots of deer tracks crossing the trail. The sunshine felt great on our faces.

We've bicycled this stretch of the trail many times, going up to Nisswa for coffee. It was nice today to just hike, going slower and taking in a different perspective of the area.

Wonderful to have longer days of sunlight and feeling so good. We trudged north to the 2 mile marker before turning around. 4 miles total, we were getting hungry as we got back to the car.

Nice surprise, Peggy had bought a big, thick sirloin steak just in case we wanted to grill outside... oh yeah, perfect. As soon as we got home, I fired up the Weber. I rubbed the steak lightly with olive oil, a very light dusting of Old Bay seasoning and a few twists of the pepper grinder and we were drooling waiting for the coals to get completely ready.

The steak came out perfectly, and we had baked white and sweet potatoes, topped with fresh avocado with it. Our first grilled steak dinner of the year! Very cool....

We'll see what we get into this afternoon, we've got dance lessons tonight. I hope that we review some of what we learned last lessons, and then maybe get into waltzing.

We really appreciate the area we live in, there's always a fun choice of things to do together!

Maybe leaning more towards the Springtime than more Winter weather now, we'll keep flexible... it would still be fun to get in some more snowmobiling.

Life and Love are Blessed Indeed...

Peace!
