We took a nice Kingpin ride on Wednesday for a "build it yourself" burger bar. Awesome deal, huge good burger and over 20 items to pile on top. Peggy and I had been working hard and deserved a break. After our meal we headed to the Gull Dam Recreational Area. We hiked around, looked at the big fish swimming in the spawning area and then rode a ways to the beach and access area there. Beautiful evening, warm with a breeze, middle of the week quiet. Oh Yeah!

We worked this week on getting the frame for the new deck completed. The weather cooperated, things fit, and by Friday we had our inspection and were ready to begin this new week putting on the actual deck boards.
Excitement was building as well as the deck for our ride on Sunday... the 3rd annual Ride for the Cross. 100 motorcycles, 100 miles, fun, food and fellowship.

As we lined up and enjoyed coffee at the starting point, an old 650 Yamaha, pretty stripped, came along... this picture is for son Charlie. His project bike Triumph, might have a look like this when done, but not orange.

Of almost 100 bikes, Peggy and I rode the only Victory. We enjoyed a lot of conversation and good comments... (it is gorgeous).
After a prayer and a gal singing the National Anthem, we headed out east. Rider crew went ahead and blocked intersections so we could roll right through town.
Great sound and lots of smiles as we got on the back roads for our adventure.

Long lines of bikes, ready to "peel off" and head east.
2 rest stops were scheduled, treats and coffee and the reading of prize numbers for our tickets.

We knew some riders, recognized others and made friends all day long.
Peggy found the cookies right away and there were coolers of ice cold pop, and hot coffee along with "buddy poppies".
Nice crowd of fun loving people, for sure!

I'm in a sea of iron as we get ready to leave this rest stop and roll around some lakes and back roads.
A beautiful sight, the rolling ribbon of headlights and the thunderous sound of exhaust... we caused on small "stampede" of beef near one farm, funny how some other cows seemed to actually come closer to the fence to watch us all go by.

Back at the starting point, we enjoyed a huge picnic type buffet and had good music. Peggy and I won a nice gift certificate at a local auto parts store and another for coffees in Nisswa..... very nice it is a place we frequent anyway.
A great week of fun and accomplishment ending with a long walk around the neighborhood last night, we slept like logs!
We are finishing the deck this week, the stairs and top rails and posts are going on right now.
All kinds of plans for fun, visiting and Springtime yard projects are coming up this week....
Life and Love are Blessed More and More!
Peace!

SWEETNESS!
I'm not sure if I'm going to "bob" mine like that Yamaha or not. Kaylee has expressed her enthusiasm for riding with me, so I may do the traditional two-seat look. Either way that's a sweet old bike!
