Shrinking the Monster Ice Dam

Gary my next door neighbor saw me chipping away at the ice dam. The Sun and warmer weather tempered the ice a bit and it was easier to find lines to pound a screwdriver into and break large chunks off than yesterday. I got a lot off, big pieces too. Gary asked if I wanted to use his "roof rake" and of course I did. I stood on a ladder to get the most reach and pulled down tons of powdery, heavy snow. It made a neat thwump on the ground as it hit. I went all around the house and got off as much snow as I could and opened up all the roof vents. Job well done, if I do say so myself. Again, my arms are a little limp and I'm hungry. I had a steak, toast and a Clif Bar for energy this job required, and it is all gone. Whew!

After running many "head cleaning" operations and test patterns, I got my printer up and running. For some reason, I even had to reinstall the software to do the maintenance. Now I am working on my grocery list, plan and hand outs for the cooking event this Thursday. Scooter and I went to the Super One and picked up the Swedish sausages I had ordered. They are thawing now for me to slowly simmer, they are uncooked. Then they will be ready to split and grill for the pressed, Cuban style, sandwiches we'll be serving. I like having as much prep work done as possible to keep the actual event fun. Tomorrow, we'll be going back to the store and get the rest of the groceries needed for the menu.

Maybe more later today, we'll see. Peace!
