Resourceful Squirrel and a Tribute to Katie

I had an old jar of Reduced Fat Jif Peanut Butter, if you've never tried it.... don't. It is not good. So I was going to throw it away. Katie suggested giving it to the birds. I crumbled up some old bread heels, melted the peanut butter (?) in the microwave and drizzled some on the crumbs, then tossed. I had barely put it in the hanging basket and this little rascal showed up and munched away.. like he was waiting for it. I've had birds carrying pieces away all day. The cardinals are singing their Tweeeeeee, twee, twee twee... I've not heard that since October, sounded great and made me think of Spring.

Katie is on her way back to Alaska. She got a ride this afternoon to the Minneapolis Airport and flies to Phoenix, then Seatle then to Anchorage where a friend will bring her to her home north, in the woods. Minnesota will miss her, and I miss her with all my heart. We have to remember that she is as close as an email, a phone call or our blogging. She was a joy this last visit.

I got my Fed and State taxes done today and they are in the mail, tomorrow I'll look at the Minnesota Property Tax Refund book and see what I can do. Nice relief, the Mn taxes were actually a bit more confusing than the Fed, but I got it done.

It was 39 here so Scooter and I went for a nice long walk. He wore his parka but no boots and did just fine.. I did have to wash his little feetys when we got home from the puddles and dirt on the road but it was great to be out in this warmer weather.

I've got a meeting tonight and maybe company after for tea, a movie and silly times, we'll see.
Until tomorrow... Peace!
