I woke up this morning so hungry, I made a big omelet with sauteed onions, peppers and topped with cheese. Then I went to a good meeting with a lot of buddies to start the day off thankful and good. Reading some and thinking of lunch, I went to the kitchen and had beautiful birds at the feeder. The Cardinals have been tweeting for 2 days now and finally I captured one eating the peanut butter coated breadcrumbs. The lovely bird on the ground is a Red Bellied Woodpecker and has an orange red head, down the back of its neck and rosy cheeks. Katie had such a good idea about the peanut butter, the birds are loving it.

I'm fixing a real Saturday lunch. Grilled sausage and Frank's Kraut. I'm going to go down and sort through some of my stuff, tools and boxes of misc. items on a big table downstairs this afternoon. I've got a friend that is going to cut me a bunch of slips from the houseplants they have. Different kinds of ivy, and who knows what. I'm going to need the big table in the basement to get pots, soil and planting stuff ready for this. I feel the need to brighten up the house with lots of plants, and I'm going to indulge it.
I think I'll have a buddy over tonight for "guy time" and watch a movie, drink tea, snack and talk. Good time. It feels good to have my taxes done (I hope correctly), and gone in the mail.
I'll post more later if anything of interest happens on this gray but warmish day here in Brainerd.
Until later... Peace!

pretty birdies! I saw some dark-eyed juncos this morning and heard the waxwings chitter-chattering in the trees. : ) It's good to be back.
