Frosty Spring Friday

Time for a good hearty breakfast, then get ready to go to work. I'll have a busy fast morning and day, unpacking and tagging merchandise. Good fun. Today at 3 I've got an appraiser coming to the house. The appraised value of my home will affect the interest rate for a re-finance package I'm trying to swing to take advantage of the lower rates available. I'm hopeful everything will go well. I had 3 big crows visiting the backyard yesterday, hopping and playing about, finding chunks of bread the other birds had dropped. Every time I got the camera ready and got it to the window, they flew away. This happened more than once, and I wonder how they know when something is different or when something is pointed at them. Reminds me of a story an old gal told me about the crows eating the apples in her orchard. She hated the crows stealing the apples and wanted to shoot at them. She would push a broom handle out the back door of her home and the crows would stay and peck the apples, she would slide the broom handle in and push the barrel of her shotgun out and the crows would be gone.... this happened many times to her... how do they know?

Weekends are always special here in Brainerd, plenty of time to visit and relax. Church on Sunday morning with the last class for new members. A new stained glass cross is going to be installed in the chapel before Easter, and I'm excited to see it. I hope the weather is warm and sunny enough for some outdoor activity. We were thinking of a bicycle ride, but the cold wave, I think, will prevent that, we got an inch of new snow that would make the trail slick. We will think of something fun to do though, that's for sure.

I'll post more later this evening perhaps with what happens today.
