Mount Redoubt has erupted 5 times so far. This is where Katie lives. Keep Katie and all Alaskan residents in your prayers as this activity unfolds. There has been a threat of this happening for a couple months, and increased seismic activity yesterday indicated that an eruption was eminent. Thankfully, the winds may carry the falling ash to the west of Anchorage. Katie lives about 40 miles north and a bit east of Anchorage, so maybe they will get lucky. The ash cloud is over 9 miles high now and has not begun coming down. Watch the news keep "in the know" with this amazing event.
