Oh that Mother Nature! Brainerd is again in a terrible Winter Storm Watch, along with much of northern Minnesota. Up to a foot of snow, high winds and severely cold temperatures may be on the way tomorrow and into Wednesday. I've got to make sure I've got snow blower gas, and stock up on a few extra groceries in case it hits the way it is written in the warning. Yeesh! I stopped and gassed up the van and it was the main conversation going on at the station. I've got a light work schedule this week, so that will be good for not having to travel any more than I need.
We went to church yesterday and then the new member classes, always a good start to the day. I really like the church, Trinity Lutheran Church, just a few blocks away from home. I work tomorrow morning in "receiving" at the store... so much Spring merchandise coming in, it is a fast, nice day, uncartoning, stripping cellophane off clothing and putting on security devices. Gets my mind out of the house, the dumpster, and is actually relaxing for me. I made awesome spaghetti yesterday with onion, garlic, lots of herbs and rich sweet tomato base. A salad with an orange/ranch dressing went with it. We took Scooter for a nice walk through the park, along the Mississippi and tried the Waterworks trails until we discovered they were awefully muddy. Sunny and warm and really worked up a good appetite for the spaghetti dinner.
My tattoo is healing nicely, keeping it moistened with lotion and washing it with anti-bacterial soap. I really like it.
So many changes in my life as I discover just how wrong the path I was on has been. I feel directed and guided in my choices now as never before. Incredible friendships, support and fellowship in the meetings I attend, I didn't know what I was missing. I am a grateful man.
I'll post more later perhaps with what happens here in Brainerd as we brace again for a severe lashing by Mother Nature.. at least I'm being serenaded by cardinals this morning.
Peace and More!
