Maybe another week for the ice to leave, Spring Beauty

Taking a break from my paperwork project and after a nice lunch, Scooter and I went for our little road trip. This is Rice Lake at Lum Park in Brainerd. The water near the shore is a good sign that the ice is thin. Perhaps another week of 40's and sunshine will clear the lake out to the Mississippi. One of my favorite places to paddle because of the nearness and options for distance, the wildlife and scenery are fabulous always. I was hoping for more encouraging water visible, but I must remember,it is still early, and I'll be out sooner this year than last.

I just got off the phone with Charlie, and he is
coming to visit Friday night and stay for Easter weekend with me. I am so glad for this, I've not seen him since late last Fall. I'll have to think of a nice Easter dinner. We'll do some exploring of the area and just celebrate our time together.

I finished with the written project, subject to approval and acceptance, and feel drained and emotionally spent. I am going to honor the event by having a nice steak for supper before my meeting. I've been surviving on a lot of toast and soup, except for the wonderful BBQ meal at the Arb on Monday night.

I took Scooter for another long walk today, and even though it was 45 out, the stiff breeze made it feel a lot cooler. I was glad I brought my hat and gloves. The sunshine felt great and the air does smell like Spring. The river level has risen again, moving very quickly but does not look like it will flood any roads in Brainerd by the park.

Until tomorrow, Peace!
