Great night of sleep.... got a little warm and threw off a cover once, and went back to the depths. The Sun is just rising, orange and yellow and the sky looks clear. Nice. I've been working on a personal project, reading, deep thinking and writing notes for a couple weeks. I started yesterday to write the final configuration. It is and has been an emotional journey, and I feel both relieved and a unique form of "drained", as a result of my efforts. I've been blessed with a lot of clear thinking and memories while working on it. Springtime is perfect for new beginnings, and a time for housecleaning both mental and physical. I'll be glad in more ways than one to have both done.
Scooter and I went for a real long hike yesterday afternoon... it had reached 42 and he kept looking at me and bouncing towards the front door. I'm glad that he encouraged me. It was bright, the air smelled fresh and as we got to the river, ducks, geese and a host of different birds were all making noise to liven things up. Nothing like fresh air and nature to bring me back to life.
I am inspired today to drive to Lum Park and just see the condition of ice on Rice Lake which is part of the Mississippi. It probably will be the first place I launch for a paddle this year. It is very close, scenic, and with the river, I can decide, according to my energy level and time available, how far I want to paddle upstream and back. Perfect for practice and enjoyment. I'll take a few pictures to post later of Rice Lake, just on the east side of Brainerd and have more later.
Until then.. enjoy the Sun and Peace!
