I awoke early, anxious to see what the storm had brought. The forecast has been off by hours and amounts of snowfall since it was issued. The Brainerd area did not get, so far, the 8-12 inches predicted, but some surrounding areas did get more than us. Also the strong winds never really happened. This snow is so wet, heavy and sticky that there is no way it could be blown or drift. It was supposed to hit us for a stronger "round 2" at 7 last night, but didn't start until much later. Tales of many cars in the ditches in outlying areas were pretty constant through the day. I took this picture this morning of my back yard, and you can tell by how it is sticking to the utility wires, that it is a wet snow, maybe we got a total of 5 inches or so here. It is slick and intersections
Most community and area events were canceled.
I was called into work to cover for people unable or afraid, because of the forecast to get in. The store was pretty dead, except for some serious shoplifters, so there was some excitement.
Another reason to get up early this morning was to see if the Conficker Virus had struck. The "April Fools Day" attack was predicted on the web, and thankfully would not hit Mac computers anyway, but I wanted to see if the Web had been affected. So far nothing that I can tell. I wonder what other April Fool's will be pulled today?
I had some pretty yellow finches at the feeders yesterday afternoon, I think they are the goldfinches getting their colors for Spring.
I've got a couple days off from work, so I'll see what all happens and post more later.
Until I do.... Peace of course!

I set my status on Facebook as "Katie Freeman is pregnant with triplets and is eloping to Brazil with her lover Jose Cuervo, where they will live in peace and happiness in his mother's backyard shack." : )
Glad to see it wasn't too bad!Love you!
