Katie and Charlie arrived Saturday afternoon. I had made a Chicken Curry and salad with black bean confit. The 4 of us enjoyed the meal while chatting about everything. The meal was made extra special by the conversation and all the wonderful, warm feelings. After a rich frozen chocolate pie dessert, we downloaded Katie's pictures into the iMac from her kayaking adventure. Right out of National Geographic in content, Katie explained what was going on in each of the over 200 pictures. Jellyfish, tidal pools, tide lines, camping, paddling and the most beautiful scenery had us all in awe.

We all got up and went to the 9 a.m. church service and Katie got to sit next to neighbor Chell. A good service all the way through with the Gospel Music Group singing 4 good songs. After that, Katie and Charlie stayed at home while we went to the Journey to Faith service at the old Franklin School auditorium. We were again treated to a little miracle as the service began with the band singing, a big screen picture presentation was started, illustrating God's majesty and beauty in the world. The first 20 or so pictures were exactly like the ones we saw of Katie's.... Alaskan coastline, icebergs and snow covered mountains... almost unbelievable!

We went over to Chell's to visit and for Katie to show him her pictures... we talked for over an hour and a half... they get along so well, and Chell is curious about Katie's education and Alaska so much that it was really a special time for all of us.
We had pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast and decided to go shopping when I got home for Shish-ke-bob makings for the grill. After sunning and chatting in the sunshine and breeze, Katie and Charlie assembled the ke-bobs while I got the grill ready. A teriyaki marinade and pineapple with peppers and baby portabella mushrooms made for an excellent dinner!
It rained and blew, so the bonfire and peanut butter smore's were out, so we shared in good conversation for a while before the inevitable packing and getting ready to leave. The'll get back to SW Mn about 11 tonight and I already miss them.. So proud of Katie, and Charlie is a very special guy.
Love, fun, friends, church and good food... it doesn't get any better than that for a weekend in Spring.
Peace!
