Out for BBQ and Good Times

Got the lawn mowed and trimmed for the weekend, bread baked and other fun stuff after work yesterday. Then it was just nice to sit in a lawn chair, enjoy a cup of good coffee and feel mellow. Breezes shifted direction frequently and at one point, when the wind was from the west, it rained some crispy long little brown tips from tree leaves or pine tips, I'm not sure. They about disintegrated when hitting the ground, but they really came down in a cloud when it happened. No wonder peoples allergies are acting up, the dry sunshine is making all the trees pop with new growth. The Suzuki, parked in the driveway, got covered with a fine pollen dust.

Great food and good times at Famous Dave's last night. I had the BBQ chicken meal with
pineapple laced coleslaw and spicy potato salad and Sweetie had a new menu delight, BBQ nachos.
I'll have to make them myself at home, they were so good. Seasoned like deep south BBQ, pulled pork, baked beans with sausage, cheese and vegies made a surreal presentation. Looked liked nachos, tasted like a BBQ picnic.... outstanding! Of course, we had to split a decadent bread pudding for dessert with vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream... next to my own, the best.

Very cool and rain looming, the bonfire was postponed until tonight. Katie and her boyfriend Charlie will be here and I'll think of something good for supper, maybe a curry of some kind?

The gardens are growing well in spite of the very
cool mornings. The rain we did get last night will help too. The second row of green beans popped up so quickly, I am amazed.

Anxious for Katie and Charlie to get here, we'll all have a good time visiting, snacking and looking at pictures of Alaska. Other than church in the morning and Crossroads Cafe tomorrow night, no plans will make a relaxing time more fun.. just winging it!

I'll post more later with pictures of Katie's arrival and all the mischief we get into.

Until then, Peace! Enjoy your Spring weekend.
