Scenic Saturday Morning Paddle

A perfect misty morning with a breeze on South Long Lake. We put in at the public landing and followed the shoreline. Herons scolding with their squeeky "Gronk", loons popping up behind us and hooting, ducks, an eagle soaring overhead and other beautiful sights made it all special. A half hour or so of a light rain and mist was refreshing. The channel to the Upper lake had fallen trees blocking it and we had to turn around and come back. Someone was cooking bacon in their cabin and the aroma made us hungry. Into a light headwind and along the shore again, we enjoyed looking at all the small, family cabins, kids out playing and folks fishing from their docks. A great way to get fun exercise, fresh air and visit on the lake.

We had a bonfire last night, and made Reese's Smores again.... the coals were just right for browning marshmallows and the stars were out in full as we listened to a good radio station, snacked and gazed upwards. A satellite and a shooting star were extra cool to see.

Good church services this morning, first we went to Trinity Lutheran, then Journey North for their gospel music service.... rockin' spirituality and good messages there always. Such a good mix of

people too.

Today will be relaxing and just seeing what happens the rest of this Sunny Sunday in Brainerd.
The town seems quiet and peaceful today, good for sitting outside enjoying the birds and Sun, visiting and catching up on life.

Peace!
