Skeeters and Frogs(?) in the backyard now!

Beautiful morning, mid 60's, Sun shining and birds singing. I went outside with my coffee to see what is fresh and new, look at the Moon, and wake up. Goodness, the mosquito's are out in force! There has not been many so far this Summer, but they are in the yards now. I was surprised to see a few leopard frogs hopping around in the yard this morning.... I noticed Scooter and Charlie sniffing curiously around the gardens, and this may be why.

The phlox and liatris are in full bloom, such a pretty color in the Sun. They are attracting bumble bees like mad. Dozens of very large
ones visiting each blossom. Good for the gardens.
Peggy's yard and gardens are beautiful too, and her green beans and tomatoes are coming along great now.

Finally with the warmer temperatures, the tomatoes are turning red. We'll have plenty for salads, sandwiches and other delights. They've been on hold for a few weeks with the cool weather.

Peggy and I made a great beef stew last night with the fresh potatoes and carrots from her Dad's garden.. Just what we needed to recharge after all the fun work we've been doing. Then we settled in and watched a romantic movie "P.S. I love you"
. It had an excellent cast, and was a good story, we give it 2 thumbs up.

I work on the floor today, and will also be getting some things ready for the big "rummage sale" coming this Friday. As much a social event here in Brainerd as an opportunity to get rid of clutter.
We'll make it fun for sure.

I baked some good bread yesterday for our morning toast, whole grains and oatmeal to give good energy to start the day. It is so good with peanut butter and honey.

Tonight will be good for taking it easy, making our "list" of things we'll need to be ready for the "sale", and see what the evening brings. Wonderful times always!

Summer temperatures finally, gardens producing like mad, and Great Times in Brainerd and beyond!

Peace!
