Orange and white sunrise for the start of another great day. The dogs love tearing around, making tracks in the new white stuff.
Just what we needed... a fresh white coat of light snow to make things cheery and more holiday-like. This has been a very good week of fun, food, and work. Today I'll go to the friendly answer place, Ace, and pick up the snow-blower.
Since new, the Ariens has performed beautifully. It was time for it to have complete maintenance.
The Norwegian yellow pea chowder was amazing. Beautifully colored soup with good flavor. The Norwegian peas cooked up and look almost like garbanzos but were poofier and tender. With the homemade bread, we had a wonderful supper before dance lessons. The dancing was so much fun, we learned the "Cuddle" and the "Butterfly", to use in our 2-stepping. We both loved the "Cuddle" and practiced that most.... if done a different way, it is called the "Chicken Wing". Lots of fun and a great way to break up the work week with some romance and laughs. Flowers were waiting for Peggy when she got home, they sure are cheery and add to the Holiday feel and decorations popping up in the home.
We fried up some big spicy burgers last night, really tasty! Baked beans, sliced tomatoes, chips and a good dip.... perfect Friday night meal. With the "food network" on in the background, we laughed and had "Iron Chef" comments about the meal....
Today we'll be baking 2 pies and a cake to bring to a celebration this week-end. A "Pumpkin Cream Cheese" pie, a "Chocolate Fudge Custard" pie and a "Cinnamon Crumb Cake with Apple Filling". Oh yeah! the house is going to smell fantastic!
Holiday Cheer, Blessings in our Lives, Family and Friends, Holiday Music, Winter Scenes in Brainerd and most of all, Love..... make the Season Bright.
Peace!
