Because of the chill in the air yesterday, I made a pot of Chili. Just enough spice to make it interesting, rich with cumin, black beans and kidney beans, it was a fantastic warming supper last night. I also baked some Molasses Crinkle cookies. They smelled great while baking and were the "cookie of the year" from 1930-1934 I think.
We watched "Julie and Julia" last night. I received a free pass-code in the email, so figured we would see if it was available. Just about any actor or actress could have done a Julia Child impression for this movie, but Meryl Streep pulled it off perfectly. It is hard not to mock Julia a bit while watching, she was such a comical, passionate and loose character in real life, this movie was touching and very good.
Tonight we are going to cozy in and tackle some Christmas card stuff. It may be okay for a short walk outside, just for fresh air and a little color on our cheeks, but it is a night to plan on being inside for sure! After work tomorrow, we both have the weekend off.... excellent. We'll do Holiday Cheer things, relax and have fun. A road trip on Sunday will be perfect and the weather is supposed to warm up to the teens by then. Saturday I'm planning on having my old van tuned-up. Kind of spendy as the plugs are hard to get at, but it will be nice to have the old tank running good for what will probably be it's last Winter with me.
Christmas music on the radio, colorful lights glowing at night, cookies, cards and all the wonderful warm cheer coming good here in Brainerd.... Life and Love are Blessed and Great!
Peace!
