Warmer Wednesday

Not so bitter cold this morning, it was ABOVE ZERO when I got up. I dressed and let the dogs out. They were woofing at something so I went back out to tell them to be quiet. I was looking up at the stars in the sky and from the west, just barely clearing the roof, then down and through the backyard, a big owl flew into the trees carrying what looked like a bunny in its talons. It had rounded wingtips, so I knew it was an owl, creamy white with some gray and light brown on its underside. Pretty cool!

I'm burning lots of calories keeping warm, I can tell. I ate 4 meals yesterday and still woke up very hungry. I grilled a nice sirloin in a cast iron pan and had it with toast for breakfast.... hearty and delicious. Keeping busy around the home, wiping down the kitchen and keeping the floors clean takes a little time. I went for a snowmobile ride yesterday, going the same route Peggy and I went New Year's Eve. The trail had just been groomed and was smooth and scenic. A nice way to spend an afternoon.

The amaryllis that Peggy got me for Christmas is starting to grow.. it appears to be forming 3 stalks and slowly inching up... I'll take a picture when it gets 6-8 inches tall. There's not been a lot of sunlight for it lately, and I put it under a lamp.

Today will be spent keeping busy, staying warm and sending Prayers, Hope and Warm Thoughts to Baby Hazel Marie and her entire family.

Peace!
