What a menu, what a turnout, what fun! The theme for the evening was "Warming up the Winter with food", and we did just that. A rich and spicy New Mexico stew, Posole~, spicy cheese quesadillas, bacon cauliflower salad, Mexican rice, and for dessert, Chocolate Fudge and Bavarian Creme Triffle. Done just in time, the event began at 5 p.m. A new process for entering the radio stations promotion contest evened out the flow of participants, getting their prize cards stamped at each participating business instead of flooding in to receive the card before they were all gone. A welcome change as wave after wave of happy "Girl's" on their night out, came in to have good snacks cooked in the NEW state of the art Jenn-air kitchen.
By the time it was over, we had well over 300 women came through and about 280 to 320 meals were served! We had a ball. We handed out recipes for the Posole~ and the Cajun spice blend, talked food and showed off the new convection oven, warming drawer and built in appliances...
Peggy came to join in the fun and took these pictures while we served up the treats. This was the largest turnout for this event ever. Today, I'll be recovering from the flurry, get my equipment put away, and get ready for weekend company.
Hopefully, weather permitting, son Charlie and his fiance~ will be coming for yet another Christmas celebration. What a Winter Peggy and I are having.
So grateful for Love and Life,
Peace!
