The weather is a common topic on my post, and here is another example. It is -17 now, a very, very cold morning. The temperature is predicted to go up to 23 above this afternoon! A 40 degree or more difference in a day.... amazing. Perhaps we will decide to go for another snowmobile ride late this afternoon, before supper. Cardinals are high in the trees out back, yodeling and finishing with an unusual purr I've not heard before. Cool.
We went for a long ride Tuesday evening. We took off to the trail and headed another direction. South of Brainerd, following the trail back through a system of trails through the city and along the river, near my old house, then back. It took a little longer than we thought, glad we had filled the gas tank, and were real hungry when we got home. I had made a vegetable beef soup with elbow mac and lots of spice. It really hit the spot.
Yesterday afternoon we headed up to Grand Rapids. It was like driving through a "Winter Postcard" of beauty. The fresh pure white snow with bright sunlight, perfectly plowed and cleaned roads, a very nice road-trip. Visiting and looking at pictures of Hawaii, a nice hotdish supper with fresh (really fresh) pineapple, very nice indeed. Underwater pictures of snorkeling with sea turtles, coral reefs and whales were great.
We went Saturday night to the Herberger's Christmas Party and dinner at the American Legion. Peggy was beautiful in her new dress, all dollied up, and I wore a suit... an elegant evening of fun, games and great food. We know how to have good time!
The pets are all cozy this morning, anxious for the warming Sun. I'll have a hearty breakfast and see what the day brings. Probably start and warm up the snowmobile later for our ride. Putz around the house and have a good Winter day. Thoughts of Valentines Day are running through my mind, feeling so grateful and happy!
Life and Love are wonderful, and the blessings keep coming!
Peace!
