Fun and Busy Springtime... weather cooperating!

I took off on the Kingpin last week and rode down to visit daughter Katie and her fiance~ Charlie. What a great time!
Katie is about 30 weeks along with Lydia, and back from Alaska is moved into her beautiful home. The weather made the ride down fabulous, stopping for coffee and treats a couple times on the way.

We 3 went for a hike around Smith Lake Weds night and the flying gnats were amazing, the woods were screaming with them. At least the bugs weren't biting, and we had a great time looking at deer and birds, one wild turkey even.

Katie and I strolled around town, talked and had a fabulous visit. So nice to see her "blossom" with pregnancy, feeling good and looking even better!

Rub a tummy for good luck!

Peggy and I have been pretty busy with the yard. We've made all gardens bigger, transplanted some things and getting a nice feel to the layout of the yard.

Peggy transplanted the Kentucky Bluebells to the fence along with some other little surprises.

The rhubarb is not huge, but is holding it's own so far this Spring.

We moved some hostas, and have other perennials and plants to put in for borders.

We are going to double the size of our vegie garden, getting timbers nailed for the frame and ready to till.

The new deck is about finished and we've enjoyed a few meals on it, with hummingbird visitors. Nice to sit and enjoy coffee and peruse the work we're doing in the back yard. Excellent!

We've circled the lilacs and tree with rocks, Peggy is putting in some marigolds and we've got a funky flower box going in the front. I've got a roto-tiller for a while and might put in a free style garden in the front too, rock garden type of course!

We've been blessed with so much energy and good ideas this Spring, having a ball making our front and back yards special for us.

We took Sunday off and after church, rode the Kingpin up to Grand Rapids to visit.... a cool trip and lots of fun. This week we'll be doing more with garden additions, along the back fence, herb garden by the garage and other fun stuff, heading out maybe this afternoon to pick up our tomatoes and peppers... oh yeah!

Life and Love continue to be Blessed and Guided, lots of smiles, hugs and fun here in Brainerd....

Peace
