Getting stuff done in the cool rainy weather... still fun!

Can't fool a turtle, there's got to be a lot of water around here somewhere...

Yesterday afternoon, this cute little turtle was coming our way across the street. We put it in a pail of water for a while to let it rest and we took a couple pictures. It had been walking a while, there were abrasion rubs on the shell belly.

We took it to the back of our yard and let it go into the wet woods... there is a culvert and little creek back there.

We finally found a Passion Flower Vine. I had given up on locating this interesting plant, couldn't even find one in seed catalogs. Browsing through Fleet's garden center, there were a few little trellis vines sitting near the front... we grabbed a healthy looking one and got it into our corner garden with ornamental grass. Our neighbors let us thin their Tiger Lilies and we stuck a few of these in the corners... excellent color.

We got a couple new pepper plants in, a paprika plant and more beans and a row of beets planted.

Not enough heat to help the plants and seeds take off, but there sure is enough gentle rain!

Another project, we have an herb garden on the far side starting, and a the beginnings of a garden with perennials at the garage side. We are planning on circling these 2 gardens with patio stones. The yard is coming along fabulous with our ideas!

Another drizzly day, I've got bread baking, we had hearty oatmeal with fresh blueberries for breakfast. I'm planning on baking banana bread later while I putz around the house... can't do much outside. A workout in the garage later, some running around, and today this day will be another fun, productive day in Brainerd.

We're waiting for the Sunshine, but making our own good Spring without it for now, feeling blessed and guided in our lives and hearts!

Peace!
