So far, this has been the coldest, wettest, hottest and driest Spring I ever remember.... not many just average days. Seems it is either dusty and very hot and Sunny, or very cold and raining steadily. One extreme to another... am I tan or rusty?
Yesterday I went to the bike shop and had different handlebars installed. A little bit higher and 2 inches back, I think they will be more comfortable for long rides and with Peggy on the back, make it easier to lean back on her a bit... very cool.

This is the ring around a little tree in the front yard. Peggy planted some nice hosta's last week and they seem to be recovering very nicely now. They have had to survive in a short time, high heat and dry conditions and 40s with lots of soaking rain... gotta be tough to garden in Brainerd.

Our new "rock garden" style area in the front. A sedum is in the middle with a couple flowering perennials behind, a row of some kind of little bulby things in front... we'll see how this evolves.

The deck, drizzled on this morning, low 50's for temps, was not inviting me for coffee THIS morning, but has been most mornings. A great place to sit, chat, bird and dog watch and snack.
We're very happy with how it turned out.

Peggy's big petunia in the corner, the lawn chairs we had match the colors perfectly. Built very sturdy, the composite materials will need no maintenance, other than a hosing off once in a while.

The corner in the back yard fence was just asking to be decorated with some sort of garden. I tilled it up and put in 3 bunches of ornamental grass so far. I may sprinkle the area with a flower seed mix and just let it go.... fun stuff.

Our double-size vegie garden has peppers, tomatoes, zukes and other good stuff in it... a row of beans has been planted in the near side.
Basil in the corner, thriving so far, will go in with some of the tomato dishes.
Beets next....
Bread baking, smelling real good, a rainy and chilly morning to putz around the house, we'll watch the weather and see what else we can get into today.
Peace!
