Summertime in the Brainerd Area... Nothing Better!

We've been doing so much, having so much fun,
hanging out, moving around enjoying our Summer that coming here to blog has not attracted me much. Sorry, but trust me, this is an incredible Summer.

Kayaking last week, enjoying the Sun and scenery, this very small, abandoned (?) log cabin called to me. What story does it hold? Looks like no one has been there or used it in years. Where is the road that leads to it? Fun stuff to think about while listening to the birds and paddling in the clear water.

Daughter Katie came to visit and we had fun doing a bunch of stuff. We went for a ride and explored an abandoned nature learning center, hung out for a while with some Biker Buddies, and lots of other good things.

Scooter and Charlie were due for a Summertime rinse with insect repelling shampoo and Katie helped dry the critters... Scooter is good at looking pathetic, needing some luvin' up.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree and Katie is great in the kitchen. She wanted to share a recipe for cornmeal pancakes with blueberries so whipped up a batch.

Tender, fluffy and delicious.... some of the best pancakes I've ever had!

Peggy and I held our big rummage sale 2 weeks ago with outstanding results. Part of the fun was picking through the items ourselves, thinking of whether Katie would like them. We had a box of assorted stuff set aside for her to go through and that was fun too.

Lookin' so healthy, due in September, full of Love and just glowing! Oh Yeah!

Sunday, after church and a "birthday pot-luck" (I was an honored recipient), we decided to take the Kingpin around Lake Mille Lacs. Absolutely perfect day for it.. Sunny and real warm, nice breeze, there were more boats out on the east side of the lake than I've seen out on Mille Lacs in years. The sandy north shore had lots of swimming parties going on too! Great to see families out enjoying a real Minnesota Summer.

We pulled into a "Scenic Overlook" on the east side to walk around and view the lake. So bright, it was hard to adjust the camera for our pictures.

There were many motorcycles on the road, also riding around the lake, and a few rolled into this rest-stop too. In fact, there may have been more bikers out than cars.

The north side of the lake is a nice strolling road, lots of cabins and lots of fun going on.

We stopped at a Biker's Trading Post and got a vest for Peggy... laced sides for cool.

Mowing the yard, watering the gardens, cukes and zukes coming in, green beans soon.. lots of green tomatoes on the vines... the gardens are looking good.

An off and on again "rainy, stormy day" here in Brainerd today... maybe I'll catch up on inside stuff?

A Summer-full of Blessings, Life and Love, Grateful and Guided, we enjoy each day! Making Plans!

Peace!
