Birthday Fun, Lazy Cats and a "What is it" Boat!

Whoa, what a cake!, what a Birthday, What A Gal!

Devil's Food (appropriate), chocolate chips and hot fudge infused with cream cheese frosting... That's what I baked for Peggy's birthday party.

We stretched the celebration out as long as we could.... oh yeah! Like me, she's getting younger with each passing year.

Mr Kitty sets the trends, here showing Tanners how to properly pose while sleeping. Mr Kitty is the MOST unusual cat... He seems to be everywhere in the house at once. Go upstairs to a closet, he's inside waiting, go back down and into the bathroom, he's sitting on the john waiting... how does he do it?

Electrician came a few days ago to do some work hooking up a ground to the box. A few minutes downstairs and I hear a holler "We've got Mr Curious down here".... while other cats run from commotion, Mr Kitty runs to it and dives right in, he was playing with an end of a spool of wire and
looking into his tool box.

Warm sunshine in our plant room after a cool morning attracted Mr Kitty to sprawl out and sun himself... no up, no down, no cares... just a funny cat.

The past couple months a boat has caught my eye. Not to buy or desire to own a boat, I just was smitten by the graceful lines, overall look of the design and streamlined look.

Well, I do have an eye, come to find out.

This boat is on hwy 371, just south of Rice in an old wooden boatyard/graveyard.

Thinking it would be someday gone, and I'd regret not taking a picture, I stopped along the shoulder, walked over and started snapping pictures. A fellow was working to jack up another
old decrepit boat and I asked him a few questions about this beast.

First thing, this looks like a much larger boat than it is... only a 19 footer.... it looks like a small ship from the road.

The man said that it was an IOTA boat.. I called the next day and they checked the papers on it... confirming it is an IOTA. Nothing anywhere, no internet site I searched revealed anything about a boat company or design called IOTA.

They told me that only 6 were
made, and this is the only one still in existence.
It has a fiberglass hull and wooden deck and top. The original 4 cylinder Gray Marine engine is in it as is the Eaton transmission. Wow!

This is truly a hole in the water into which one would pour money, but WOW, would it be awesome in an antique boat parade!... I even see the lines of a submarine in the design.

Very cool mornings, great days for a pot of homemade soup.. vegies coming out of the garden as we enjoy the end of Summer.

Making plans, get-aways ahead, romance in the air.... what a Fall it will be for us!

Getting ready to ride the Kingpin south as Daughter Katie is about due to bring my first grandchild into the world! Prayers surrounding, warm thoughts comforting, God watching over them, as the time approaches....

Life and Love, Blessed beyond hopes, continue to amaze!

Peace!
