21 below, but it is "National Bubble Wrap" day!

It is National Bubble Wrap Day today!... everyone, find some bubble wrap and enjoy popping the bubbles. There are websites dedicated to this day, and even craft ideas for using bubble wrap. There is some kind of primal enjoyment popping the bubbles, relieving stress as we do and listening to the "pop". There was a story on this celebration on the morning TV news.

21 below zero, actual. 2 more days of this dangerous cold, then a little warming up to the 20's. The weather is the main topic because it dictates a lot of activities. Scooter went out to potty this morning and is back in bed, under the covers. I'm glad it is getting light out earlier, and the Sun is staying up longer in the evening. An encouraging sign to me. The coffee smells, for some reason, extra good this morning. I did some laundry yesterday to keep busy and washed the throws from on the couch and towels. Josh came over last night with Neishkons the Alaskan Husky. We had popcorn and watched "Step Brothers" with Will Ferrel. Funny, but not a "family movie" for sure, lots of grossness, but hilarious at times. We had popcorn and ginger ale and chatted some during the movie. After warming to about zero yesterday afternoon, the house "popped" a few times in the night as the temps dropped, and I'm glad there was no wind to make things worse.

Everywhere I go and meet people that I know, they always ask "I suppose you miss Kayaking and are anxious for Spring to get out on the lakes again"... oh yeah for certain. Thanks for reminding me. About 2 1/2 months more of this Winter, and there should be some open water for a new season of more and better kayaking. The best thing about that, is it gives me incentive to exercise some, keep stretching and get ready for it. Oh well, there was a ramble.

I'll post more later as Scooter and I hibernate for a couple days until this frigid front blows by.

Peace!
