There, now why don't they make the boots like this?

I have a good idea once in a while. I cut the toes off the baby socks and then touched the cut edges with a butane candle lighter, after I read that there was nylon in the blend. Hopefully that will keep fraying to a minimum. Scooter was so patient while I tried different approaches to putting everything on. We found the best way was to put the sleeves into the boots and then stuff his little feety inside. I was careful with his one hind dew claw to make sure it was down.
He pranced around the house like a horse, and I could tell the boots felt good on his feet.

Here's Scooter in the backyard after about a 2 1/2 mile walk. He never lifted a foot, walked awkward, or anything. Easily the most comfortable walk he's ever taken wearing boots.
There didn't seem to be a wind most of the walk, but one stretch was bracing as a north breeze made even my cheeks tingle. We took our normal route and Scooter directed me away from the house and wanted to continue all around the neighborhood. What a fella! I feel so good that I have done something to make him more
comfortable doing what he love... being outdoors
and going for walks. It will take a little more time to suit him up for these things, but he is worth it.
He spoils me, so I spoil him.

You can see the cold in the air, it is almost crystally (is that a word?). Crisp does not quite describe the air today. It is the warmest it's been all day and it is still below zero. It felt good to get out and go for a long walk and it feels extra good to have done something nice for Scooter. He will be happy now and sleep extra good tonight.

Here is a reminder of just how much snow we've gotten here in Brainerd this winter. The Weber helps to relate to the depth. I still am grateful for the 3 warmer days earlier this week when I was able to chop away and knock off the huge monster ice dam on the south east side of the house. Now to just hibernate, sort of, for the next couple days, and we will be back to more normal temperatures. 20's sound real good now.

Now for an early supper, and see what else happens today as I catch up on laundry, towels and stuff.

Until later.... Peace!
