Brutal Saturday Morning

It is minus 18 actual, and minus 37 with windchill. I washed Scooters parka yesterday to get it
fresh and fluff up the insulation. Just in time too, it is dangerous cold outside. He'll wear it every time he goes out to do his thing. He raced to the spot this morning, peed and raced back in record time.
I baked a beautiful big loaf of bread with oatmeal, cornmeal and wheat germ. The house smelled so good as it hit the bake cycle, my stomach started growling. I got up this morning and Scooter was the smart one, staying snuggled under the covers a while longer. Mouse and Tanners are pressed against each other enjoying the warmth. As I started coffee, there is no indication of how cold it is looking out the kitchen window. Sunny, clear and looks like a nice day.

There is an Ice Fishing Tournament just north of Brainerd today, and 110,000 people are heading to it. No unnecessary travel is advised on Hwy 371. They'll all have to bundle up in many layers to survive that event! Not my kind of fun, but it is an annual, popular event.

I've no plans for today yet, but will find things to do to keep myself busy. Read, snuggle with the critters and putz I guess, but we'll see.

I'll post more later, until then.... Peace!
