We were serving so much food, it was a fun challenge to keep up. The "Girls" came in waves, with trickles in between. "Can we take a picture with you?" was a frequent question this time, and there were a lot of photos taken. I figured, okay, but then take one for me too. This was a fun group making their rounds from area business to business, entering the contest and sampling the participating business' service or products.
Here, I'm keeping up on the Bruschetta while Karin is at the Kitchen Island serving guests.
The grill gave the bruschetta a toasty flavor and the melted asiago cheese was awesome on the herbed tomatoes. I placed a pan over the bruschetta as it grilled and that helped melt the top and added to the flavor. There are pressed Swedish Sausage Sandwiches going and we are in full swing.
The crowd is gone, no more stragglers, and it is time to clean up. We are making "leftovers" as we do. Karin is so fast that as soon as I look for something, it has already been washed and packed for me. The store smells so good at this point that it is impossible not to pick and taste continuously as we finish up. The downdraft grill cools quickly and comes apart easily for clean up. It has a new kind of hard finish on the components and the grilled on mess comes off easily... that's good, we had cheese crusted and oil marinade goo dripped all over it. Still pressing more sandwiches too I see. And Finally, Chuck, the Appliance Centers owner, ventures out to eat some leftovers and relax after the exciting night. Sorry about the formatting of this post, I was trying to organize it and it got away from me. The more I tried to fix it, the worse it got. It it going to get sub-zero, brutal cold here the next few days, not looking forward to that. My electric bill shows that I've had to keep the van plugged in when it gets like this. More later maybe if anything happens here in Brainerd. Until the next post.... Peace!
