Warmer Temps, Good Friends and a Great Pot-Luck

The warm evening lifted moods and the Pot-Luck Dinner was excellent. I am holding my Curried Wild Rice Salad with sliced green grapes, diced tart apples and toasted walnuts. I lightly toasted the curry powder before making the lemon juice dressing and it turned out real good. One couple brought 20 lbs. of fried chicken. One buddy got my recipe for "gooey chocolate fudge pudding cake" made it for this event and did a great job on it. All the usual stuff and a few "over the top" items made for a great meal, and a good crowd.

It warmed up through the night and is 21 above now. So many days of below zero temps, icy roads and other weather related issues was getting to the residents and business' of Brainerd. It will be fun to get out today and see all the moods elevated by this change. Just in time for Super Bowl too.

I've got some "cabinetry issues". Through the winter, the cabinets have changed. Doors no longer align, and this door no longer closes and the front trim is warping. I went to the kitchen dept. when I bought the bedroom paint, and told them about it. Yesterday I was called by the manufacturer and they will send out a rep next Thursday morning to check it out. It is not like this is new construction and the house settled, and I don't think there are any moisture issues either. We'll just have to see what they think and what can be done to fix it. The appearance of the kitchen is a bit out of whack.

Today will be a nice change as I clean and putz, thinking of what I'll do for tomorrows game and enjoy the warmer weather. I want to make BBQ ribs and invite some buddies over, but we'll see.

More later on this "feels like Spring is in the air" day in Brainerd. Until then as always.... Peace!
