I had toast for breakfast then went to church. A very good service with some new hymns and great message. The church congregation was a little small, maybe people were sleeping in after celebrating Valentines day.
A buddy stopped over about noon and we had coffee and talked for a while. Nice visit, kind of
becoming a Sunday tradition.
I made a big chicken salad for lunch. Scooter knew it was in the teens and the sun was shining, so insisted on a walk. He has been so good while I've had to be gone, and such a comfort to have around, I indulged us both and we went to the Arboratum. We stayed on the park roads and off the trails because there were a lot of cross-country skiers using them. A family with lots of little kids had to stop and pet Scooter, made his day. It was so calm and beautiful out, we hiked the roads again and went around the "Arb" once more. I'm glad he keeps me encouraged to go for these walks.
When we came home and a little romp in the yard, I gave him a new Pedigree "Denta Stix" tooth cleaner chew stick. They are made with green tea, zinc and vitamin c, and are good for his dental care. He made short work of it, chewing it to nothing and eating it. I'm glad he likes them and will give him a couple a week.
I'm going to a "candle light" meeting tonight. No lights during sharing, just candles.. kind of spiritual and cool. A good end to the day.... unless a buddy comes over afterwards, then that will be the good end to the day.
I've got another freind, Mark, coming over tomorrow with steaks and salad stuff for me to make him supper. What a nice treat. He'll finally get to meet Scooter and he is a great conversationalist. I'll make homemade chocolate gelato and buy a pecan pie to put under it for dessert. Sounds like a winner.
A good day, reading and relaxing.. I never did get to the bedroom painting job, there's always tomorrow. I'll have to do a little dusting and vacuuming too tomorrow, tidy up the place for dinner.
I'll post tomorrow with what is accomplished and the dinner time fun.
Until then... Peace!
