After church and getting food prepped for the big game, Russ and I drove the 95 miles to Cambridge to pick up Katie. We drove back to Brainerd a different way, going north on 25 from east of Princeton. Very sunny and beautiful winter scenery. Lots of fun conversation in the ol' van too.
The house smelled fantastic when we got back. The beans baking, the ribs bbq'ing in the crock pot, and the bread was done. We stopped near home and got some cole slaw and I dollied that up with paprika and a dab of horseradish.

The game was starting soon and we settled in with bean dip, cheese and crackers and coffee for all the hoopla. Russ was rooting for the Cardinals, and I was rooting for the Steelers, this was going to be a match. Katie didn't care, she was going to laugh at the ads and just have fun.
After a bad start for the Cards, I felt bad for Russ and started hoping they would do better... it's more fun to watch a close game anyway.
Many penaltys and turnovers kept the game exciting right up to the end. Josh came over in the fourth quarter with Neishkons and had pictures on his little computer to share as he met Katie.

We ate, and visited as Scooter and Neishkons chewed their rawhides. I made a pot of Yerbe Mate~ tea for Josh. A last minute touchdown gave the Steelers their 6th Super Bowl win and we all enjoyed a real record setting fun football game.
Today we will visit, go for a hike at the Arboratum and see what else we can get into here.
It is so wonderful to have good company and share life. I'll post more with pictures of the good times later. Until then, PEACE!
