Geese a honkin' River a Risin' Sun a Shinin'

Beautiful day to take some pictures. Scooter and I went for a great hike, then after I got home from work, we went back to Kiwanis Park. The Mississippi is really rising. It is a few feet from the park road in some places, where it was 30 feet away a few days ago. I heard the geese commotion from my back yard when we were playing fetch, and had to go investigate. It appeared that there were some courting rituals going on as ducks nonchalantly floated near the shores. There were other people walking and taking pictures too. A great park, right at the bottom of the hill from my house. Glad I'm away
from the rising river and dry.

This picture is from standing on the park road looking up the hill from near the river. My home is just the other side from the house at the very top entrance. Very cool location indeed.

Since the watch has been upgraded to a "Winter Storm Warning", we also went and got more gas for the snow blower. I'm hoping the storm will miss and this will become lawn mower gas. Hard to believe that 6-12 inches are forecast for the Brainerd area and Crow Wing County, beginning Monday night and getting heavier through Tues.

The church service this morning was awesome, old time gospel music provided by a very good group.. mandolin and guitars, it was almost like "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" stuff... and a good sermon and baptism too. We then went to the final new member class after church.

I had a good, although short, day at work. Not real busy, but some interesting customers and decent sales. I did laundry and a few other things around the house. Scooter and I went over to Gary next door when he was picking up sticks in his front yard, and talked for a while as Scooter ran circles and jumped in the air showing off for Gary. I'm going to start a loaf of good bread and then do some reading and relaxing for the rest of the day.

I may post pictures in a few days of the same area after, or if, we get the major snow.

Until tomorrow..... Peace and More!
