Cozy Sunday Morning

It's only 40 outside this morning, and the critters are all snuggling. Fried potato and onion omelet with cheddar, toast with jam for breakfast... ready to hit the day.

I was invited by a friend to a nice party last night. On a lake, the house was magnificent, totally lodge look with a fabulous kitchen. Pot-luck was the affair, and with no warning, I was reduced to bringing deli smoked salmon spread, tortalini salad and good crackers... I felt kind of bad because a few had been to the Girl's Night Out event and I was not a Chef last night at all. I slept like a log.

I had female redwing blackbirds at the feeder this morning. The males chase the females away until they've eaten first, kind of funny to watch. Blue jays seem to be the opposite, letting the females eat first, and actually grab morsels to bring to the waiting females in the trees. Bird etiquette.... what can be learned?

Tidbit has been visiting more lately and is getting along well with Scooter... I caught them napping together on the bed. Scooter now runs and jumps up on the bed by himself, he's not done that since I removed the rugs for painting, I didn't think he
got enough traction to make it up that high, but he is growing so strong from his walks and play outside, that he flies up onto the bed with almost no effort.

After catching up on some stuff around the house, and cleaning up, I am going to a friends house to help varnish some interior doors. A nice way to spend an afternoon. I still feel a little woozy from having such a busy week, I thought for sure I was "coming down with something", and have been making sure I take my vitamins, getting good sleep and drinking tea to ward off any "bugs".... I just about passed out when I got home from work on Friday, nice to feel better today.
