Good Night of Nachos, Sleep, then Easter Today

Charlie is putting the finishing touch on our Chorizo Nachos Grande. Baked until about done, then broiled until browned and crispy, they were delicious as we watched the old comedy "Hot Shots". I've no idea how many times we've laughed and caught more jokes in this silly film, but it hit the spot on a Saturday Night.

Scooter cozied in with Charlie this morning on the futon after going outside at 5 to do his thing.
We started a loaf of bread with oatmeal, cornmeal and graham flour in the machine, so Charlie could watch and catch any hints. It took 6 minutes to prepare and start the machine.

We went to the 8:15 Easter service, and the church was of course about packed. The children, all dressed up, and the lilies, the sermon and message was traditional and heart warming. It was great to finally see the new Stained Glass Cross that had been hung yesterday for the Easter celebration. Butterflies and symbolizm are in the design, it will take a long time to absorb it's beauty and meaning. Gorgeous.

We came home after church, and after playing in the back yard a bit, got the ham ready to roast. I chopped garlic and ginger, mixed it with a little
olive oil, honey mustard and honey, made some slits and pushed some into the meat, the rest went on as a rub, topped with a little brown sugar. Into the oven it went. I hard-boiled some eggs for deviled eggs, and with sweet potatoes and a good salad will be our Easter Feaster.

It is so far a warm, sunny day here in Brainerd, and it is wonderful to visit with Charlie.

I'll post more later with pictures of our Easter Celebrations and fun.

Easter and Springtime Hope and Peace!
