Bigger Garden, I can dig it!

Yesterday was about perfect, weather-wise, and for just being.... outdoors. The dogs were good company, sometimes playing together, sometimes with me, and sometimes just laying and watching. I cut off the sod layer from the garden expansion and moved it piece by piece to fill in by the lilacs and fence in the sw corner of the back yard. Then I used a spade and turned all the dirt over in the garden, mixing it some, taking out the weeds and grasses that had invaded the space and fluffed all the coffee grounds into the dirt. After raking, and some rain, it will be ready for planting. I stopped about 1/2 way through and had a crunchy Braeburn apple and lots of
water. Feeling the sunshine coloring my skin some, I made sure my new tattoo was protected.

I went over and visited Chell too. He had been such a good buddy on Sunday, coming over a few times while I was gone to take care of the dogs. I got him a jar of loganberry jam in Two Harbors, and he liked that. I tied a necktie for him to wear for his appointment to get his picture taken for the new Church Directory. He had just gotten back from playing 9 holes of golf, and he's 86.

Huge dragonflies appeared suddenly and were swooping through the yard, I thought they were hummingbirds at first, reminding me to put out the nectar feeder for when they do arrive. The rhubarb is growing well, and when we get some rain later this week, will grow quickly. A bald eagle was circling high overhead.

Late afternoon was time for a walk. The dogs mind pretty well on their leashes, and I need to get Charlie a better harness, I cannot seem to get the one for him now adjusted quite right, it may be the wrong size, can't really tell. I brought them at the end of the walk to the Waterworks to run, and whenever Charlie did not mind or went off the trail, back on the leash he went... he'll learn commands and rules for that I think. It is a joy to watch them lower their heads and race, just digging in for speed, almost as if they are laughing as they see how much ground they can cover.

Last night, 2 woodticks.... one on me and one on Scooter. I'm glad I gave both dogs Frontline and Heartworm treatments. Maybe I need one too?

It is 20 degrees wamer this morning than yesterday already, and I'm not sure what all I'll do around here... this afternoon I'm heading to St. Cloud to hang out and have some fun. Now it's coffee time, reading and quiet thought, breakfast, and see what all this day brings.

Peace!
