Katie is going to visit for a fun weekend!

Great news yesterday... Katie, back in Minnesota from school in Alaska, is going to come Saturday for a weekend of visiting and fun with her boyfriend Charlie. We'll have good food, hang out and look at pictures of her 3 week kayaking adventure. We're planning on all of us going to the Crossroads Cafe on Sunday for the great music and atmosphere. Just being together and visiting will be the best thing... and some introductions.

Yesterday was a good sunny day to get some things tended to in the gardens. I watered them all and "trickle watered" most perennials. Everything is growing fast and my second row of green beans are popping up already. The liatris along the street rock garden are shooting up along with hostas and day lilies. As the dirt warms from the sunshine, the vegetable garden is perking up and there are blossoms on a few tomato plants too. I just had to pick some rhubarb and cook up some sauce. I mixed some sauce with yogurt and had it with hearty cereal for a real fresh fruit treat before going in for a short shift on the floor at the store.

After work we went for a fun long motorcycle ride. The air was cool but we dressed for it and the country roads were empty of traffic as we rode by farms and scenery. The best part was the magnificent sunset. Brilliant red-orange and purple glowed into some clouds on the horizon.. it seemed as though it was extra beautiful, just for us. As we crossed the river coming home, a cloud of small bugs hovered above the road... we lowered our chins so the face shields on the helmets protected us. It sounded like rain as we drove into them and we started laughing so hard, I had to slow way down. Ah, the joys of a sunset motorcycle ride. We celebrated with ice cream later... good times.

This morning I work in receiving into the early afternoon. I'll come home and maybe mow the yard to get it ready for company. I'll get a fire ready to light in the stone pit for an evening bonfire and the best relaxation.

I could not get a picture of the orioles yesterday, maybe I'll have more luck today. They were high in the trees and singing all day while I was outside, but were camera shy or something. Rose breasted grosbeaks serenaded the neighborhood all day too, sounding kind of like a robin on high speed.

I hope to post later with pictures of what all we get into after work today and evening, we'll see.

A great spring weekend is on the way.... so much Love,

May Peace, Respect and Honor guide your day!
