Yesterday was just what a Sunday should be, and more. Almost draining with spirit, messages, music and more. Trinity Lutheran Church first thing at 9, a very good traditional service with great music and sermon about Holy Relationships and the Bible only being Holy if it is opened. Then back to my house for a cup of good herbal tea. We then went to a "New Wave" kind of church service in the old Franklin School Arts building. Rockin' music and gospel service with a lot of singing and participation... very moving. Peggy's friend was playing bass guitar and singing, and made the service more meaningful. An afternoon of visiting, sunning and watermelon led us to another event. I did not even know that this establishment existed in downtown Brainerd. Called the Crossroads Music Cafe, it is a large open espresso cafe with a large sound stage. Peggy invited me to go to the Sunday concert/service and it was awesome. Again her friend played bass guitar and with a raspberry white chocolate iced cappaccino, we enjoyed 4 gospel rock songs, a cool sermon type talk, then 5 more rock songs, with her friend singing a Led Zeppelin song... awesome!
After that, we went for a long motorcycle ride. The cool air and fragrance of lilacs and other blossoming trees made the ride a lot of fun. Twisty turnys, some highway riding and then back to home for a great pizza. A full day of fun. I would like to live it all over again.
Today is Memorial Day... a day to reflect and be grateful for our Freedoms, bought at such an incredible price of our Brave Men and Women in our armed forces, and to remember fallen heroes.
I may do a little shopping today, just to get out and about, and look at some new bedroom curtains. I need to brighten up the windows with something cool, and be able to draw them for total darkness too... We'll see how I do on that mission.
I may post more later, I surely never know how my day will be blessed or guided. Until I do....
May Peace and Honor guide everyone's Memorial Day, remembering all that we have to be grateful for in our Country and all the past and present members of our Armed Forces for making our Freedoms possible.
