Sometimes these rainy, gray days are nice. They keep me indoors, catching up on stuff, housework and other activities. But this was nuts for a while as it got darker and the clouds billowed. I checked the weather page, and Brainerd was in a severe thunderstorm watch, although to me it appeared that the cell would split and brush by. It did, luckily.. no high winds and the hail only lasted a few minutes... no damage to any garden plants or structures. I did remember to drive over to Sweeties house and close all her windows, then reopened them late in the afternoon, after my hot, sunny bicycle ride.

Oh the supper!... I made a really good White Chili with Grilled Chicken Breasts and White Beans. Paired with cheddar quesidillas we had a real Summer Supper Feast. I'll definitely be making this recipe again... garlic, onions, peppers and cheese in the stock, it was filling but light and had a great Mexican flavor. A fun time afterward, visiting and relaxing.
We are checking out new campsites now. We drove this morning to Crow Wing Campgrounds to see about tenting there later this weekend or early next week. It got 2 thumbs down, rule signs everywhere, busy and much too structured for our tastes. We will check out Cross Lake Recreational Area next, run by the Corps of Engineers, it seems way better, by the brochures we picked up at the Chamber Visitor Center on hwy. 371.
Tonight we think a bonfire is in order with Reese's Smores and good music. Tomorrow morning we will canoe or kayak, or bicycle the trail depending on what mood hits us. So many fun choices around this area to enjoy the Summer. Ahhh, Summer Romance and Fun everywhere we go!
Prayers are being answered in our lives and life is great, calm and full of smiles!
Until later...... Peace!
