Fetch and Fun on a Cloudy Thursday

Nice night last night, even if the bonfire was cut short by a flock of skeeters. The sloppy joe's were unbelievable... I had watched a segment on the food network on these sandwiches and got a couple ideas for "secret ingredients" to make them special... it works. Thick, sweet and savory, we had them with big glasses of milk before heading out to light the fire and listen to music. All was fine until one, then two then a lot of mosquitoes came to feast also. It was okay, we had our time.. the oldies station played good tunes and we toss pine cones into the coals to watch them burn... pretty cool effect.

We picked rhubarb this morning and Peggy made her awesome rhubarb upside down cake. I hope there's leftovers for me! I painted my crate to use as a flower box to match some house trim. Now I'm thinking of what all to put into it. Some ornamental grass in the back and who know's what else? Good use for these old boxes.

I went over and put up a new ceiling light in Peggy's kitchen.. it matches her decor perfect and the light is not as glaring as the old florescent light that was up. Itsa nice!

I played fetch with the dogs and tried to wear them out some.. no way. They pouted when I stopped and painted. Such rascals.

I work a short shift this evening on the floor and after will go to visit. We are going to start packing and making final plans for our road trip.
Old friends and good times on the way.

Not sure what else I'll get into today, it is cloudy and we may get a few passing rain showers or storms this late afternoon. Our yards are looking great after mowing yesterday, some rain would do them good.

Lots of good things happening in Life and Love....

Peace!
