Perfect All-American Fourth of July Weekend!

The pictures speak for themself. We had fun and lots of it. From watching Wall-E after eating at Matty's, to a Saturday walking the parade route with the dogs, to BBQ and a bonfire, the Fourth was nothing short of miraculous. Saturday Charlie and I went over to Peggys to help move a shelf unit and have fun before work. We brought donuts from the new shop and had a lot of laughs.

Charlie and I prepared a BBQ meal of ribs, brats, baked beans and roasted vegetables for when Peggy came over after work. We went to Gregory park and the 3 of us "played" tennis for an hour before eating. At dark, we put our lawn chairs out into the street with the neighbors and watched the fireworks.... WOW! technology has been good for fireworks. We OOHED and AHHED for the entire show. Later we lit the bonfire in the backyard, shot off a few of our own little fireworks and enjoyed relaxing while Charlie played the guitar. A late night of Love and good conversation.

The food was all extra special, totally Fourth of July in theme and got us fired up for the fireworks and festivities ahead.

Sweety needed a good meal after work, and we saved the homemade banana ice cream for a bonfire dessert. With cherry preserves and chocolate sauce, it was fun to eat it in the dark, just the flickering flames setting the mood for the sweet treat.

Sunday after we went to 2 church services, one at Trinity Lutheran and then to Journey North, we came home for coffee and more guitar playing.
It doesn't get any better than this.

We then went to Gregory Park for the Art and antique car show. Charlie and I really liked the wooden turtles.... a lot of work and detail into these babies. Paintings, jewelry and other crafts were a lot of fun to peruse while we enjoyed the perfect weather.

Back to my place after the Art Fair for some more munchies, coffee and the all too soon "good-byes". It was a great time with Charlie, and after he left, Peggy and I went back to the Art Fair to see what we had missed. Charlie called while we were there and in an hour and a half had only gotten to Royalton on hwy 10 due to the traffic. I tried to talk him into coming back for the night and try again in the morning, but we figured the traffic might disperse after St. Cloud and it did... he got home about 8. We rented "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandler and had leftovers for a fun end to the day.

Hard to remember all the good times, visiting, sharing and enjoying the perfect weather and fun we had this weekend, but as I wrote above... the pictures say it all!

Back to reality some now, another week of adventure to get through, and then another road-trip weekend of visiting is coming.

May your week be filled with Peace and Respect for the Love and Growth of others!
