Hummingbird imposter and an Old, Old Cat

Beautiful morning today, 50 degrees, calm and very dewy. I went out with coffee to wake up listening to the birds, and saw this HUGE dragonfly. It is chilled and covered with moisture, unable to fly. This is the kind that hover in the yard and sometimes look like hummingbirds, it is about 3 1/2 inches across. I moved it to a dryer place that will get some Sun, and it is getting more active, probably will fly off when it warms up.

I needed to take a picture of Mouse the 21+ year old cat. He is sitting with his eyes closed, with Tanners near and watching over him. Mouse is
failing a bit, I moved a litter box upstairs as he doesn't like the basement stairs anymore. He lays on the rug most of the day now, but Tanners leans on him, keeping him company and warm. Sometimes he perks up and visits on the couch. He has gone through these phases before, and then recovered like a kitty for a few months, but this time he has really slowed down.

Last night was wonderful. We had waffles and a fresh tomato salad for supper with fried ham slices and fresh green beans... I'm getting a LOT of them from the garden. I brought some to my good neighbor Chell yesterday too. A perfect combination for late Summer dining. We later went out and got ice cream for dessert... yeah. Cool snuggling weather and
evening, we watched the first half of "Snow Buddies" and laughed at the puppy antics.

I work on the floor today, should be fun... always a big sale of some kind to deal with and great customers. It was nice to have a day off yesterday to mow and get some good housework done and play with Scooter and Charlie.

Tonight, Peggy will make supper and then we'll see what mischief we can get into. We've got a weekend coming up, a road trip on Sunday, and other fun ideas for more late Summer adventure.

Great weather, fresh stuff from the garden, healthy eating and great times together! It doesn't get any better than this. The Blessings just keep on coming.

Peace!
