Rummage Sale Fun

What a day!... a hot and sunny day for a rummage sale. After work, I changed into cooler clothes and went over to help at Peggy's big sale. Her daughter was there helping too, visiting with her Son. Nice in the shade, like a pressure cooker in the Sun. Between small waves of customers, we set up a lawn sprinkler for the boy to run through... giggles and splashes all over, what a blast. I blew bubbles for him to chase and he played kick-ball in the yard, getting cooled off. We sold a lot of odds and ends. Later in the afternoon, we began putting stuff away and got hungry. We all went to Herberger's and shopped for special clothes before going out to eat... always a lot of fun at that store!

We went to Matty's, one of our favorite places, for sunfish sandwiches and sweet potato fries with their special "secret" dipping sauce. Luckily, we had room to share a big dessert, fried ice cream.. it was perfect. Good music played as we visited and relaxed with the great food. A very nice night.

Today, we opened the sale again and waited for people to show up. For some reason, it was a later start than we thought, but went well after about 10. I had my Trek bike on Craigslist, and a fellow came from Alexandria to look at it and test ride. He fell in love with it and bought it! I am sad to have it gone, I've had many miles of fun and adventure on that bike, but it is going to a good home... sniff. The wind changed, a coolness came, and I began tearing the sale down, expecting rain.. and it did come. About 1/2 way through putting everything away, it began to pour.... thankfully, a few customers helped bring everything into the garage, saving the day. Again, a lot of stuff was sold, and it was a good sale. I had Scooter and Charlie tethered in the back yard a few hours early at the sale, so they could see the action and share in some fun too.

I think tonight we will relax and celebrate, and go out to dinner again. Oh yeah for good times!

The air smells fresh now after the rain, the gardens needed it too, and we'll see what else the weekend has in store for us, and what the weather will allow for activities. We're already looking forward to next weekend and another awesome road-trip!

Peace!
