Dressed up dogs and a day for cooking

Nothing like a brisk evening to get the dogs dressed in their sweater or parka. Like dressing kids, they sit and raise their paws to get them on.... they love them. All muscle, no real fat, Scooter and Charlie get chilled easily and need to have a little help with staying warm when outdoors in the cold.

After work yesterday, we took the dogs and went to the Arboretum for a long hike. Perfect cool and calm, the colors and trails were great. We worked up quite an appetite doing some work at the old place after our hike... we did some cleaning and arranging, a couple guys from Little Falls came and bought the futon couch and a TV too. We had a coupon for a "buy one get one free" rib dinner at Famous Dave's so off we went. As usual, the food was delicious and with the blues music and atmosphere, we had a ball.

Today I've got rye bread baking and will do another loaf of whole wheat, one is going on the road trip tomorrow. I also have started, a rice custard with cherries and raisins that will be a good dessert. After while, I'll start an old fashioned corn pudding to bring too. This is going to be a real special road trip visit with an early Thanksgiving dinner and more! Today is a great day to sip coffee and bake, the house smells so good and it makes everything more Holiday-like.

Great to finally have warmer weather than we've had, we may have to go out for another hike this evening too. Good times always, fun stuff to do. We watched the new release "UP" on Thursday night and it gets 2 thumbs way up! Hilarious in parts, a little scary in others, it is a great animated (Pixar) movie and Ed Asner's voice is perfect for the "old man".

Life and Love continue to be blessed beyond dreams, the Holidays are going to be extra wonderful this year.
