Ice and All, it was a great Holiday Visit!

The weather warmed a bit, streets got slushy, intersections sanded and generally lightened up just in time. Charlie and Kaylee arrived early afternoon after the "skating rink" effect of drizzle had passed. Peggy and I did venture out to do a little shopping, picking up some last minute details, and it was slick, slick slick out.

Not having leftovers from "Girl's Night Out", we were still hungry for the Posole~. I cooked up a pot with Italian sausage and chicken.... fabulous warming, spicy stew for this kind of day and weather. We topped each bowl with lime infused
sour cream and grated cheese.. delicious!

Charlie and Scooter love to play, and it's fun to see the dogs actually smiling as they run around and play... both dogs chase each other around, wrestle and try to get the most attention and luvin'.

Snuggling in the kitchen, we got dressed for church Sunday morning. We went to the Journey North Ministries for the great music and experience.

I had made Scottish oatcakes for breakfast, and with peanut butter, syrup and some with jelly, a fabulous morning meal.

Of course we had to use the camera timer function, and get a "family shot" on the loveseat.
Always a hoot to push the button and race into place. The weather was hovering around the freezing mark, so it was a good time for company to leave and drive back to the southwest before roads iced up and the wind blew.

Good time, great visit, fun watching them open presents, and fabulous food made for a nice Holiday weekend.

Peggy and I watched off and on, the Jets lose to the Colts, and then with some frustrations, watched the Vikings beat themselves against the well officiated Saints. Painful finish to an exciting season, at least now other activities will be considered on Super Sunday... oh yeah!

Life and Love continue to be Blessed, Prayers answered and Feeling Great here in Brainerd...

Peace!
